Founder and director of Laureling, Aurélie Sheehan is a freelance NAATI-accredited English to French professional translator. She also offers a wide variety of linguistic services such as proofreading and editing, website and mobile app localization, multilingual translation project management and foreign voice-over. She holds two Masters degrees, one in English studies and one in the didactics of French as a foreign language.
Born and raised in Lyon, France, she moved to Australia in 2008 where she launched her career in translation after initially starting out as a modern language teacher. She is now based in Canberra and services various clients both in Australia and around the world.
A passionate linguist, Aurélie studied Latin and Japanese and is fluent in Spanish. She first worked as an in-house translation project manager and French lead translator for HotelClub Pty Ltd and then moved into the mobile industry as Director of Localisation for the Australian start-up Invoice2go. Mother of two, she now works from home on a freelance basis and specialises in international aid, human rights and business apps, among other fields.
She is a member of AUSIT and current AUSIT ACT branch chair.
